Who We Are — CSR & Sustainability

Our ESG Is
Our Work Itself

We believe doing our work well contributes more than running a separate corporate giving program. Verifying the safety of structures, reducing buildings’ energy use, and lowering the impact of noise and pollution—this is DINETT’s ESG.

Our Approach

Three Pillars

Across environmental, social and governance areas, we focus on where an engineering company can make a real impact.

ENVIRONMENT

Environmental

Our most direct contribution is reducing the carbon emissions and environmental impact of the projects we take part in.

  • Reducing operational emissions through building energy performance consulting
  • Contributing to urban microclimate improvement, including heat island mitigation and ventilation corridor planning
  • Cutting resource waste from overdesign through analysis-based material optimization
  • Minimizing travel and printing through electronic documents and remote collaboration
SOCIAL

Society

The safety of structures and the quality of living environments are public goods in themselves.

  • Safety inspections and seismic retrofits for vulnerable facilities such as schools and childcare centers
  • Protecting lives through fire and evacuation safety verification
  • Reducing occupant health risks through asbestos and indoor air quality surveys
  • Preventing community disputes through noise and vibration mitigation design
  • Industry-academia collaboration and practical knowledge sharing with engineering schools
GOVERNANCE

Governance · Ethics

Trust in technical services begins with never distorting results.

  • No adjusting results at a client’s request — technical facts come first
  • Advance disclosure of conflicts of interest; third-party verification accepted on request
  • Named authors, reviewers and approvers on every report
  • Strict confidentiality of client data and project information
  • Operating a health and safety management system and protecting field workers
Engineering for Safety

Our Greatest Social Responsibility
Is Preventing Accidents

Building collapses, ground cave-ins and delayed fire evacuations are, in most cases, problems that could have been identified in advance. They happen because no review was done, or because the review was a mere formality.

This is why DINETT holds to the principle of reporting unfavorable results as they are. An uncomfortable finding today prevents an accident tomorrow. This is what we believe engineering’s social responsibility to be.

Commitments

Our Commitments

We never accept requests to adjust analysis conditions to produce a desired result. If something falls short of the standard, we report it as such and instead propose realistic alternatives to meet it.
Every analysis and measurement has limitations. Our reports always state the assumptions made and the conditions under which results may differ, so that results are not over-interpreted.
Project drawings, design information and project records are our clients’ assets. We do not use them even for promotion without separate consent, and case studies on our website are described only by type and field.
We publish the decision criteria and methods gained in practice as insights and technical white papers, because raising the standard of review across the industry is ultimately the surest way to reduce accidents.
